The 25th ISFC, to be held alongside ISoFT’27, will take place in Strasbourg (France) from July 25 to 30, 2027.

This joint event marks the fourth collaboration between the triennial ISFC and the biennial ISoFT conference series. For decades, both conferences have served as leading international platforms for researchers from academia, research institutes, and industry, all united by their shared interest in the broad and dynamic field of fundamental and applied fluorine chemistry. Together, they form the world’s foremost gathering for scientists, researchers, and industry leaders in this specialized domain.

The Symposium was first hosted in France in 1979, with the 9th ISFC held in Avignon. We are proud to welcome it back to France in 2027, this time in Strasbourg. This edition holds special significance, as it coincides with the 175th birthday and 120th anniversary of the death of Henri Moissan, the French Nobel Prize winner who first isolated fluorine.

Strasbourg, a major European institutional capital and one of France’s leading cultural centers, is situated on the left bank of the Rhine River, at the German border. The city stands as a powerful symbol of Franco-German reconciliation, hosting the European Parliament and the European Court of Human Rights in its European Quarter, where a segment of the Berlin Wall serves as a monument to freedom. With a rich history marked by frequent shifts between French and German sovereignty, Strasbourg’s historic center, the Grande Île, is renowned for its soaring Gothic Cathedral and the picturesque “Petite France” neighborhood. Alongside the German imperial Neustadt district, it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors are drawn to the city’s unique Franco-Rhenish culture, its world-famous Christmas Market, and its proximity to the Vosges Mountains. A haven for food, beer, and wine enthusiasts, Strasbourg is celebrated for its traditional dishes such as choucroute, baekeoffe, and tarte flambée, as well as its role as the gateway to the Alsace Wine Route, home to exceptional white wines like Riesling and Gewürztraminer.

This joint conference will foster discussions and exchanges on all aspects of fundamental and applied fluorine chemistry, addressing topics of current importance in this multidisciplinary field. The scientific program will feature Plenary lectures, Keynotes lectures, and Invited talks delivered by internationally recognized speakers from academia, research institutes, and industry. Oral presentations and poster sessions will provide participants with opportunities to share their latest research and engage with the diverse developments shaping the future of fundamental and applied fluorine chemistry.

We are looking forward to an outstanding program with stimulating scientific discussions.

We look forward to seeing you at ISFC-ISoFT’27 in Strasbourg.
