The Henri Moissan International Award was created after the Centennial Symposium in Paris in 1986 to commemorate Moissan’s isolation of elemental fluorine in 1886.

The Henri Moissan International Award regognizes an internationally renowned researcher in the field of fluorine and fluorinated products.

This prize is awarded every 3 years.

The prize is administered by the "Fondation de la Maison de la Chimie".
